Make IE 9 Tabs Work The Way You Want Them To Work

I have been using IE 9 for a while and have found it to be a pretty incredible browser. However, over time I have also found that some of the default settings are in my view a little quirky. I am sure there was a good reason for the product team to set them as the default. However, the really good news is they have given us a way to change the way the tabs work. If you go into IE click on Tools – Internet Options then on the General Tab; Tabs section click on Settings you will see you can change the default behavior of the tabs. In my case, I wanted to always switch to new tabs when they are created. I also want any new tab (clicking on new tab) to go to my home page. I would encourage you to play with the settings and you may find you can make IE work the way you want it to work.

While you are playing with stuff, you might want to click on the upper right corner. The sprocket symbol opens a menu with more options. The Star symbol opens favorites option and the home symbol just takes you to your home page.

If anything else is bugging you, leave me a comment. Chances are good that there is a way to change the settings. Are you tired of getting the Disable Add-Ins screen? Just click manage Add-in’s and then click Done!
