Sr Tech Evangelist
A Technical Evangelist (TE) on the US Audience Evangelism Team uses software development knowledge, technical writing and persuasive presentation skills to inspire students, startups and developers to build innovative applications using Microsoft’s leading edge technology for a mobile first, cloud first world.
As a member of this elite team you will participate in developer events and engage the community through startup weekends, meetups, user groups and hackathons. We submit and deliver technical sessions at the top developer conferences in the region and nation. You will develop relationships with community leaders and influencers and reach hundreds of thousands of developers through your branded online media.
This is a highly technical role with the mission of engaging and inspiring the broad community of developers and fostering adoption of Microsoft development tools and technologies for the creation of apps and games for Windows, Windows Phone and cloud-backed apps and sites on Microsoft Azure.
This role is responsible for:
Driving app and game development on Microsoft Azure, and Windows in New York
Defining and creating technical assets such as reference apps, starter kits and patterns and practices guidance for use at in-person events and online
Delivering impactful technical content at events and through online channels
Engaging the student, startup and professional developer communities in person and online
Developing relationships with community leaders and influencers
Qualifications
Expertise in Mobile/Cloud/Web development through JavaScript, C#, and/or development on other mobile platforms such as iOS, Android or cloud platforms such as AWS, Parse, or Google Cloud.
Expertise building web apps and services through modern open source frameworks: Node.js, Express, Angular, React
Expertise developing and shipping games with gaming frameworks like Unity, Cocos2D, Unreal desirable but not critical
Ability to communicate concepts and code in a concise and instructive manner in writing and as a technical presenter.
Minimum 2 years of experience writing code with apps or games in stores (iOS, Android, Windows)
Passion for technology and software development
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science
