Publishing PowerPoint Slides to Your Blog or Website Using Office Web App and SkyDrive is a very simple process. The end results looks like the embedded PowerPoint slides at the bottom of this post. If you click through the PowerPoint deck, you can see some screen shots of the process. The button on the bottom right allows you to go full screen and open the presentation in PowerPoint. Here are the steps…
1) Upload Slide Deck to Sky Drive
- Login to your Sky Drive Account {create account if you need to}
- www.SkyDrive.com
- Creating the account is free; You will need a LiveID
- Add PowerPoint Deck to SkyDrive
- Click Add Files {From inside SkyDrive}
- Select the “Public” folder
- Drag and Drop PowerPoint slide deck (.pptx) file from Windows Explorer to the Add File window in SkyDrive
- After File Uploaded, Click Continue
2) Get Embed Link From Sky Drive {from SkyDrive}
- Click More, then Share, Then Embed next to the line that shows the document you just uploaded.
- Copy the text in the box. This will put the embed code in your clipboard (copy buffer).
- Click Done to close the embed box
3) Add Embed Code to Your Blog or Website
- In my case, I use Live Writer so I will simply click on the Source tab on the bottom of my Blog post and paste the contents on the bottom of the page. You do have to be in source mode to past the embed code.
- If you are not using live writer, as long as you are editing the HTML [source] you should be able to paste the embed code.
4) DONE!!!!
The button on the bottom right allows you to go full screen and open the presentation in PowerPoint.
